A growing number of farmers are reporting health problems with livestock fed genetically modified feeds and say animal health improves when feed is switched to non-GMO feeds.

A farmer running a pig farm didn't think there would be a difference when he switched from feeding his animals GMO feed to non-GMO feed a few years ago.

But he saw differences in the health of his pigs and young pigs. The farmer, who kept extensive records of his operation, found that drug treatments for diseases were cut in half. Pig conception rates have increased from the 80's to the 90's, and the piglets have increased in size.

Over the past few years, the farmer has also gradually increased plantings of non-GMO crops; this year all of his corn and 75% of soybeans will be non-GMO, adding that he is very happy with the return on everything.
